| Abstract: | In September 2007, the [post-coup] interim government of Fiji decided to launch a national initiative to Build a Better Fiji for all through a People’s Charter for Change, Peace and Progress (PCCPP). Accordingly, the interim government recommended to His Excellency, the President, that a National Council be established for that purpose. The President officially launched the People’s Charter initiative on October 10, 2007, and took steps to establish a 45-member National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF). |
